Camel

a drunk man with a bottle stuffed in the back pocket of his pants walking
toward me, leading a camel.
I looked carefully and realized that what he was leading was a puppet
camel. But he suddenly stopped, stroked the camel, kissed it, and
murmured to it very tenderly.
I turned around and kept watching him gently touch and kiss the puppet
camel, and later I followed him to the outside of the station.
He tied the camel to a smoking sign at the main entrance of the station,
and again stroked and kissed the camel for a while before leaving.
ItÕs hard for me to describe what kind of feeling it was, but I just couldnÕt
bear to leave.
Later, I felt that I wanted to stay with this camel until its owner came back,
maybe until dawn.
From a bit after 10 p.m. until after 1 a.m., I stayed there. I even asked a
friend to bring a camera and some alcohol so that I could keep watch and
record it.
I thought I might really wait until dawn for the owner to returnÉ
At the main entrance of the station, during the several hours I was
keeping watch, all kinds of drunk people, travelers, police officers came
to look.
There were also homeless people who wanted to take the camel away to
take photos with it and make money!
Later, a 112 fire truck came to rescue someone. The police who had
previously stopped to watch the camel Ñ thinking it interesting Ñ
probably found the camel annoying now, and told the firefighters to take
it away.
I didnÕt want the firefighters to take it, but I couldnÕt communicate clearly,
and the police were very harsh with me. In the end, the firefighters took it
away because of the police...
Later, I went to the fire station and got the puppet camel back.
I once thought about finding its owner, Xaniar. Maybe he has forgotten
everythingÉ it was just a moment.
I want to expand this moment.
I want to take this camel and circle around the Mediterranean and go to
the Sahara Desert...
